New Ambassador of the Sovereign Order of Malta to the Republic of Lithuania

President of the Republic of Lithuania, H.E. Gitanas Nausėda received a Letter of Credence from the Ambassador of the Sovereign Order of Malta to the Republic of Lithuania, Dr. Christoph Count Calice, on October 3rd.

Meeting with the Order of Malta Ambassador, the President welcomed the Order’s active engagement in Lithuania and thanked the Ambassador for the social and healthcare programs carried out across the country.

The President emphasized that reducing inequality and exclusion and strengthening a welfare state are extremely important to him.

H.E. Gitanas Nausėda thanked the Ambassador for the Order of Malta’s initiatives in Ukraine, underlining that we share the goal and duty to support Ukraine and to prevent the aggressor from setting the rules for the rest of the world.

The President noted that First Lady Diana Nausėdienė is also actively involved in the activities of the Order of Malta and that the Ukrainian Center in Vilnius has been established on her initiative.

Dr. Christoph Count Calice was born in Vienna and studied at the University of Vienna (Economics) and the University of Innsbruck (Law).

Activities in the Sovereign Order of Malta

Dr. Christoph Count Calice was admitted to the Grandpriory of Austria of the Sovereign Order of Malta in 2004 and Obedience – in 2014.

2021- present Dr. Christoph Count Calice is Vice Commander of MHDA (Malteser Hospitaldienst Austria)
