The Grand Chancellor of the Sovereign Order of Malta addressed the 46th session of the United Nations Human Right Council, which opened in Geneva on 22 February.
The global pandemic has meant that the traditional audience with the diplomatic corps could not take place this year. I am very sorry about this as it would have been the first opportunity to meet you personally.
As the Order of Malta’s newly elected Lieutenant of the Grand Master, I want to offer my heartfelt thanks for having so clearly indicated “the ‘rudder’ of human dignity and the ‘compass’ of fundamental social principles”.
On 8 November, Fra' Marco Luzzago was elected with a large majority Lieutenant of the Grand Master of the Sovereign Order of Malta.
Pope Francis appointed the Apostolic Nuncio, Archbishop Silvano Tomasi (who will be raised to the rank of cardinal in the next consistory on 28 November), as his Special Delegate to the Order of Malta.
On behalf of the people of Lithuania, President Gitanas Nausėda extended sincere congratulations to the Lieutenant ad interim of the Sovereign Order of Malta on the Feast of St. John the Baptist.
The President of the Republic of Lithuania Gitanas Nausèda was received by the Grand Master of the Order of Malta Fra’ Giacomo Dalla Torre del Tempio di Sanguinetto in the Magistral Palace.
Prime Minister Saulius Skvernelis met with the Ambassador of the Order of Malta to Lithuania Manfred Ritter Mautner von Markhof and discussed the prospects for further co-operation.
President Dalia Grybauskaitė received a personal certificate of appreciation from the Grand Master of the Order of Malta Fra’ Giacomo Dalla Torre Del Tempio Di Sanguinetto.
