July 1st was a very special day for the Embassy of the Order of Malta to Lithuania because it was the presentation of the “Prayer Book of the Order of Malta” (in Lithuanian language).

The “Prayer Book of the Order of Malta” (or “Prayer Guide of the Order of Malta”) is a solid volume (640 pages), which consists of the most important spiritual texts and prayers of the Catholic Church and the Sovereign Order of Malta: the liturgical calendar of the Order of Malta (biographies of the saints and prayers to them), novenas, litanies, prayers to Our Lady of Philermos, to St. John the Baptist and St. Gerard, and many more.

The book also includes a lot of carefully selected texts about the liturgy of the Catholic Church, its sacraments, main solemnities of the church, liturgical calendar, commandments of God, blessings of the Lord, main solemnities of the church, piligrimages, common prayers.

The preparation and publishing of the “Prayer Book of the Order of Malta” were financed by the Embassy of the Order of Malta to Lithuania.

The “Prayer Book of the Order of Malta” was highly praised by the Lithuanian Bishops Conference and the highest officials of the Lithuanian Catholic Church.

He gave the “Prayer Book” his Imprimatur and praised the Order of Malta in his foreword to the “Prayer Book of the Order of Malta” with the words: “Maltesers, every day you are doing Mercy work…The hands of Jesus today are your hands… You fulfill your great mission in direct connection with the Lord… “

H.E. Darius Trijonis emphasized the importance of prayer in everyday life in his foreword.He wrote: “Prayer is the way to establish direct conversation with God and learn to listen to Him. “Prayer helps us to look around and recognize poor and sick people who need our help and assistance.”

In his foreword to the “Prayer book,” H.E. Manfred Ritter Mautner von Markhof emphasized the Order’s spiritual side and deep commitment to its main inspiring principles—testify the Faith and service to the Suffering.

The first editions of the book were distributed as a valuable gift to those who made a solemn promise and pledge to the Order of Malta on July 2nd, 2022.
